Depression hinders you, the enemy Likes That

*****Please read disclaimer before proceeding with reading this blog, Thank you!*****

For those of you who struggle with depression or maybe you heard about depression but not sure what it is, depression is used to describe the elevation or lowering of your mood. Meaning some people moods changes frequently throughout the day, months, and/or year. There are different types of depression such as bipolar depression, postpartum depression, and etc. When your mood is up and down throughout the days or months the enemy can come in and hinder your walk in Christ. When your mood is low, Satan can come in and start caving in on you and making you feel worthless, shameful, give you self doubt. All of these things. We must not stay still or down because we do not want to give the enemy no chance to come in.

Have you ever heard of the following phrase “This relationship is like a rollercoaster” Rollercoasters are up, Rollercoasters are down. Kind of like definition of depression. The enemy likes confusion, he wants us confused in the mind that we will turn away from God and fall for his tricks and scheme. DO NOT GIVE IT TO HIM! Jesus Christ likes consistency; He does not want our moods to be extremely up and then extremely low. His words tell use to be of a sober mind, not just sober from alcohol or drugs but mentally sober. When you are going through a depress state you are unable to think clearly. Jesus wants His people to know that you are loved that you can overcome depression through His stripes.

Praying and reading God’s word when we are feeling down or low about something, is a good way to combat depression. Also speaking to your spiritual leaders in your church and ask for prayer. The word tells us that “power of life and death is in the tongue”. So speaking healing over depression in Jesus name, rebuke the spirit of depression, anoint yourself with Holy Oil, fast and pray. These are all spiritual treatment plans to overcome depression. There are so many testimonies out there of how Jesus healed many people with mental health disorders. He can heal you too, if you let Him.
