All my life I have dreamed of leaving the country. I personally wanted to visit China. As I grew and learned about other cultures, I wanted to travel to the UK, Africa, even Columbia at one point. Running away from home, from my childhood.
I don’t know where or who I might be if I had those opportunities to travel to various places.
But as a child, what was home? Home didnt feel like home. It felt like survival. So, I made plans with myself that by the time I was 18, I would leave home. Where would I go, I had no idea; I was too young to have a much detail plan.
When I turned 20, I was divorced with two children. Having to come back home feeling very shameful, and the extreme urge to find a way out fast. Finally, an apartment came through, and I was able to have that freedom again. Four months felt like four years. I realized then and there that it was not that I did not like my hometown, it was I did not like my childhood home. So, for years I was running, running away from home, from situations, and people. A timid shy quiet young woman who was still trying to figure out life.
I came into Christ a little over five years ago, and since I stepped foot, I was waiting for Christ to allow me to continue to run. Instead of getting through the pain and hurt, I wanted to run. I was a runner, that’s all I have been accustom too.
But God uses pain for purpose! About two weeks ago, the Holy Spirit spoke to me while I was driving. The Spirit came over me strong. What the Holy Spirit said is personal, but I will say this.
“God will assign you to a place. Being in this walk is like being enlisted in an army but better. Military families have assigned locations where their mission or assignments. God does the same. As God continues to raise up His People, be obedient to where God places you. You may not understand why, you may not even want to be there. But it’s for the Glory of God. “
Blessings,
