I used to wonder the purpose behind the saying “Patience is a virtue”. I do not fully understand what that really meant until I learned how impatience can lead you to trouble. Impatience is not good in the sight of God. In fact, it is a sin. To be on the road driving and blowing at the car in front of you because they are turning to slow is not Christ Like. It does not show that you are an ambassador for Christ. In fact, this very scenario can lead to more seriousness than you just blowing the horn. Now there is an altercation and your impatience lead you there…. just as it can lead you to sin.
I watch an interesting video. It was a panel of Christians and a person who called themself a non-believer. The interesting fact about this video is that this non believe use to believe in Jesus. In fact, they still do.
One of the things that stood out to me while watching this video was how so impatient we as people can be and how it can lead us to sin, it can lead us to witchcraft and all other forms of darkness. Patience is one of the nine fruits; patience is what is essential in this walk in Christ. Just because God did not move on your time or answer you the way in which you wanted Him to answer does not mean He is not real or He is not worthy to be served.
A lot of times we as humans want fast answers. We want fast results; we want a faster way of living. So, we turn to things such as mediums, psychics and other forms of witchcraft to speed up the process. We get into activities that break the law to come up in life faster. We get so impatient with God, we curse Him. Call Him a liar, and so forth. But God never gets impatient with us. Yet even right now, He is giving time and chance for His People to fully commit to Him.
Patience is what God shown to the Children of Isarel. They sinned against God numerous of times. Yet God forgave and met them back with Love. Sending them a lifelong every time they went astray, every time they messed up. You know what, God is doing and has done the same thing for us.
I am in a season of life where I do not know everything that God has plan. I do not know nor do I see my next chapter. I am doing all that God is asking me to do, but I do not understand yet. God tells me that one day this will make sense, sooner than you think. I trust and believe in His Word.
But what if I allowed my impatience to take over. Leading me astray. Leading me out of alignment and right into trouble. What if I sought out answers on my own? All that God has planned for me would change, and it would not be God’s fault but my own fault because I was impatient.
This blog is about not allowing your impatience to lead you to sin. Pray that God will give you much needed peace and patience to continue to trust Him and not go astray.
