You’re the Salt in Christ Jesus: My Revelation

Last week while making dinner, I accidently flicked a little bit of grease on the stove which of course sparked a small stove fire. Panic and scared I was, but then I heard “get the salt”. I throw the salt over the stove top, and I stared at it. Observe the salt and was confused as to why the salt did not burn. Then I start asking “Why does salt put out fires and not burn or look untouched.” I could have actually used that salt to season my food.

In Christ, we are called “The Salt of the Earth”. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” Matthew 5:13 KJV.

Now I know some that may be reading this will say, well there is a scientific reason behind why we use salt to put out grease fire. But there is no scientific method as to why the three Hebrew boys got thrown into a fiery furnace and came out, with not even a scratch.

They symbolize the salt be thrown into a fire. The salt I threw over the grease fire did not burn. The Hebrew Boys DID NOT BURN. I hope you see the correlation here, the revelation I had! For new believers who never understand why God’s people is called the Salt. God’s people are Salt to the Earth. It’s a reason why you’re in a room and the place feels protected, or at peace. Because Christ is in you! Where you go, angels are encamped around you, to keep you from trouble and out of harm’s way.

Salt is also use as a preservation, has been used for many of years. As God’s people we are to preserve the land. Last week, I had an oral surgery. The dentist goes over the instruction and one of the instructions was to do a warm saltwater rinse. Here’s salt again appearing in my life. Salt helps during the oral healing process, it cleans, disinfects. We use salt to clean meats. Salt is a significant component in everyday life.

I hope you are encouraged, knowing that you are the Salt, you matter in the Kingdom of Christ. Steadfast, and stand on righteousness and being about the Father’s Business. When you go into the world doing your daily activities, working, going to the store, or just being out in the community. Be an ambassador of Christ, include Christ every second, every hour, every conversation. Be Blessed and continue this Walk in Christ!

Blessings,
