A Christian poem written to describe the relationship of the Sheep (us) and Shepherd (Christ). Have you ever wonder why Jesus reference us to His sheep? Well sheep are very unique animals. However, when faced with danger; there only defense they have is their cry. Crying out hoping the Shepherd will come and save them from danger. As Sheep in Christ, all we have is our cry. Just how the Sheep listens and follows the shepherd, we should listen and follow our Shepherd, Jesus. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy the poem.
Sheep
Written by Author J.M.
Wondering the pastures, listening for my shepherd’s voice.
Rely solely on Him to come and save us all.
I have a shepherd who knows my cry.
When the enemy is near, I cry out but not in fear.
Because I know He comes so quick, so bold. Ready to fight, for a sheep like me.
I’m protected, loved, and cared for.
I follow Him day and night.
What shepherd is this? I can not believe how much He cares for me.
Even at times when I drag behind, His gentle touch is just enough to encourage me to keep moving forward. Never looking at what’s behind.
My shepherd’s love is only from above, He heard my cry in the darkest of time.
My shepherd heard a sheep’s cry.
Blessings,
